Television actor Sagar Parekh has reportedly been approached to step into Sairaab following the arrest of lead actor Rohit Chandel. The makers are said to be considering a replacement to ensure that the show's production remains on schedule after the controversy surrounding Chandel.
A source close to the actor exclusively speaks to mid-day, regarding Sagar Parekh being approached. Source revealed, "Yes, he has been approached, Sagar was the first choice for the show however, due to budget constraints earlier, Rohit Chandel got roped in. Now with the arrest, makers have approached Sagar for the show again but he is yet to sign the doted line. The makers are yet to have a meeting with Sagar before they finally lock him for the role."
Source also revealed that the production house is keen to minimise disruptions caused by the sudden developments. With several episodes already planned, the team is reportedly working on finding a suitable replacement at the earliest so that the storyline can continue smoothly.
Rohit Chandel was recently arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following allegations involving a minor. The case has sparked widespread discussion within the television industry, prompting the makers to reportedly explore alternative casting options while the legal proceedings continue. The allegations remain under investigation, and the matter is before the appropriate legal authorities.
