Ishaan Singh Manhas, who is currently seen in Sanjog, will be travelling to Delhi for Diwali this year. The actor adds that he will even visit his friends if he is able to take more time off from the show. "Like every year, this year I will be celebrating Diwali with my family in Delhi. And if I get an extra day's break from my shoot then I will attend the card parties hosted by my old friends in Delhi as well," he says, adding, "Diwali is the festival of lights. It symbolises the victory of good over evil, light over darkness. For me, it's a festival when my family comes together for puja, celebrations and a special family dinner."

Talking about his plan for the day, he says, "Every year we do Lakshmi puja at my Delhi home, we light lots of diyas and make a big Rangoli at the main entrance. This is followed by sweets and a special dinner cooked by my mother."

Ask him which is his fondest Diwali memory, and he says, "When I was a kid, the pollution level in Delhi was lower. Those days firecrackers were not banned and me and my family and my childhood friends used to burn all kinds of crackers. Those were the days when diet didn't matter and I used to eat lots of Diwali sweets. Family and friends used to visit our home with gifts and I was always excited to see those gifts. My friends and I used to attend all the popular Diwali Melas/Fairs in Delhi which had games and food stalls and rides on giant wheels."

Ishaan has already decided on this look for the festival. "For Diwali, I try to keep it simple. It's usually a well fitted coloured kurta with denim or pants with matching footwear," he says. As for diets? Will they be going for a toss? "Yes of course! The occasion of Diwali and the celebration comes once in a year and on this day, I forget my diet. I know I can burn those calories later and since I am a big foodie and also have a sweet tooth, I don't want to miss out on anything," laughs Ishaan.
