Gulki Joshi
Yaadein, the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed Italian series DOC, which has been successfully adapted over five countries worldwide. The show promises an emotionally grounded narrative that explores human relationships, life-changing moments, and second chances in a realistic and heartfelt manner.
Actress Gulki Joshi has recently joined the cast as Dr Dev's (played by Iqbal Khan) ex-wife Shrishti and is excited to be part of a story that stands apart from regular television dramas. As the hospital administrator, she is composed, decisive, and deeply committed to maintaining the hospital's integrity. She believes in discipline and accountability, qualities that often put her in direct conflict with Dr. Dev after his memory loss. But beneath that composed exterior is a woman still carrying the weight of an unresolved past, one marked by the devastating loss of her son. For Gulki, what makes the show special is its honest and simple portrayal of emotions. After watching the original series, she instantly connected with the depth of the story and the way it handles complicated human feelings in a natural way. She believes the Indian adaptation will strike a chord with audiences who enjoy meaningful and relatable storytelling.
Speaking about her preparation process, Gulki shared, "I made it a point to watch several episodes of the original series to truly understand its emotional tonality and the intricate relationship dynamics. What touched me most about Yaadein is its honesty. It isn't about drama for the sake of it, it's about second chances, quiet courage, and the emotions we often keep hidden. Playing Shrishti, a woman who remembers a past which her ex-husband has forgotten, made me realize how strength sometimes lies in restraint and dignity. That's what makes this story so special to me."
Earlier, Gulki shared, "I'm genuinely very excited to be a part of Yaadein. The moment I heard the narration, I knew this was a story I wanted to be associated with. It didn't feel loud or dramatic, but instead the story felt real. The emotions, the relationships everything felt honest and relatable. For me, saying yes to a show is never only about the role. It's about the overall feeling you get, the story you're stepping into, the people you'll be working with, and whether the script moves you as an actor and as a person. This project has given me that comfort and that excitement at the same time. The energy on set already feels positive and focused, and that makes a huge difference. When everyone believes in the story they're telling, that makes the process so much more special."
