Former Bigg Boss contestant Imam Siddique, who was one of the most popular participants in Season 6 of the reality show, recently expressed his disappointment on Salman Khan mentioning his name. He penned an open letter to the host, who mentioned his name during the recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20. Imam objected to the comparison made by Salman Khan, highlighting that he never harassed anyone during his stint on the show. He also sought clarification over the remark.
During the October 3 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman, while discussing contestant Qazi Touqeer's behaviour, referred to Imam. After the episode was aired, Imam took to social media to address the actor directly and said he found the reference "extremely defamatory and factually incorrect."
Imam alleged that Salman using his name while discussing harassment damaged his reputation. "I have never harassed any contestant with the intent to trouble them. My journey in Bigg Boss Season 6 was based on entertainment, tasks and performance. I completed my journey with dignity," he wrote.
In the note, he called for clarification, adding, "When my name is used as a negative example before crores of viewers, without me being present to defend myself, it causes serious damage to my reputation, my 44 years of work in advertising, broadcasting, corporate, design, education, events, entertainment, fashion, and my family's honour. With utmost respect for you and the Bigg Boss platform, I humbly request a clarification and correction on the show, and that my name not be used in a defamatory context in future."
Imam further addressed Salman as his âelder brother' and hoped that he would be fair to his request. "I have always respected you as an elder brother of the industry, and I continue to do so. I hope you will address this with the same fairness you show inside the house," he added.
Imam participated in Bigg Boss Season 6, wherein he finished as the runner-up. Bigg Boss Season 6 aired from 2012 to 2013, where Urvashi Dholakia emerged as the winner of that season. Imam is widely remembered for famously telling the host, "Salman bhai, time out" during his season.
