Did Kapil Sharma repeatedly slap Sunil Grover and hit him with a shoe?

Amidst speculation of Sunil Grover quitting 'The Kapil Sharma Show' after spat with Kapil Sharma, new details of their fight mid-air have emerged. Kapil Sharma reportedly slapped Sunil Grover repeatedly and hurled a shoe at him.

An eye-witness, who was on-board the flight, gave Hindustan Times a blow-by-blow account of what happened on the flight.

According to the report, Kapil Sharma had consumed an entire bottle of whisky and was visibly drunk. When food was being served by the cabin crew, the team members started to eat. This apparently angered Kapil who was still finishing his drink.

Kapil Sharma reportedly objected to that and yelled, "Jab maine shuru nahi kiya toh tum logo ne kaise le liya khaana? (How dare you start eating before me)"

Shocked by Kapil's reaction, the cast and crew of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' reportedly started returning their half-finished food trays.

The eye-witness told Hindustan Times that Sunil Grover tried to calm Kapil Sharma down, who then started yelling at him. "Kapil got up, took off his shoe, and hit Sunil," the source told the newspaper, adding, "He also pulled Sunil's collar, and repeatedly slapped him."

In the fight that followed, a female crew member of Kapil Sharma's team was also hit, reports the newspaper.

"Grover tried to keep his calm and was trying to tell Kapil to not create a scene. By this time, Kapil's abuses were so loud that he could be heard also where the economy class passengers were sitting. When the cabin crew asked Kapil's team to calm him down, they refused and said they were scared. Kapil shouted at his team and said, "Tum logon ko maine banaya hai. Sabka career khatam kar dunga. Tum TV waale kya samajhte ho? Sabko nikaal dunga main (What do you TV actors think of yourselves. It is me who has made you what you are)," the source told Hindustan Times.

Kapil Sharma also allegedly took a dig at Sunil Grover and said, "Gaya tha na tu toh. Aaya na waapas mere hi paas (Didn't you quit my show only to come back)", referring to Sunil quitting his show 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' to start his own show on a rival channel and later returning to the show after failing to get good TRPs.

The report further quoted the eye-witness as saying, "While yelling, Kapil also kept loudly abusing in Punjabi. At some point, the cabin crew told Kapil that they would have to call security on landing, if he didn't stop. He, however, kept repeating, "Arrey yeh log samajhte kya hai. In sab ka career meri wajah se hai (What do these guys think of themselves. Their career is because of me)."

Krushna Abhishek and Sunil Grover

Meanwhile, there is buzz that Kapil Sharma is considering bringing arch rival Krushna Abhishek on his comedy show 'The Kapil Sharma Show' as Sunil Grover's replacement.

Sunil has stayed off the set of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' over the last two days of shoot over the altercation. Co-artistes Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar, who were also at the receiving end of Kapil's 'drunken rage', have chosen to stay away from the set too. The producers, along with the channel officials, had to rope in a bunch of stand-up comics, including Sunil Pal, Raju Shrivastav and Ahsaan Qureshi, to keep the show going.

Now, Raju has intervened to bring Sunil back on 'The Kapil Sharma Show', on the headline act's insistence. To ensure that Raju's peace meeting with Sunil Grover is successful, he would also like to involve Kapil's mother, who is often seen sitting in the audience.
