Amid the ongoing public feud between Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, actress Kashmera Shah has now extended her support to her maternal aunt-in-law, Sunita Ahuja. This comes at a time when Sunita has been publicly accusing Govinda of having an affair with his co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Kashmera, who was at the centre of a long-standing family feud with Sunita once upon a time, stated that she stands by her, stressing that she would protect her family "no matter what".
While talking to the paparazzi outside actor Abhishek Kumar's birthday party on Monday evening, Kashmera was asked about the ongoing conflict between her in-laws. Kashmera seemed visibly annoyed as she responded, "When they have left each other, why don't you leave them alone? Why are you asking this question?"
She further extended her support for Sunita and highlighted the fact that the star wife has generally refrained from speaking out publicly. "I am with Sunita. She has never raised her voice earlier. She has never said that this is wrong, that is wrong but is she is saying it today, so there must be something wrong," Kashmera added.
The actress also made it clear that she would stand by her family amid the developments. "I will be standing with all the ladies of my family. I will protect my family no matter what," she said. Notably, Kashmera's support for Sunita comes months after the two put their own bitter past behind them.
Earlier, Govinda's nephew and Kashmera's husband, Krushna Abhishek, had also reacted to the ongoing feud.
Interestingly, a long-running family rift between Sunita and Kashmera had kept the two women apart for years. However, their relationship eventually softened recently when Krushna, Kashmera and Sunita reunited publicly on the sets of Laughter Chefs.
Sunita was seen hugging it out with Kashmera and forgiving her.
The developments come at a time when Govinda and Sunita's allegedly troubled marriage has come under intense public scrutiny. According to recent reports, the couple has also unfollowed each other on Instagram.
