Parakh Madan (PR curated picture)
Parakh Madan is currently playing the character of Niyati in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The character indeed bring a lot of attention towards the age gap after Akashdeep Saigal's entry in the show. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Parakh got candid about the comparisons, trolls and more.
Parakh gets candid about Stepping into a show that already holds a "cult" status is a completely different ballgame. It's exhilarating, but it also comes with a massive sense of responsibility. It's a beautiful challenge to balance the already established tone of the show while bringing my own unique energy to the screen every single day.
There has been a lot of buzz on the age gap after Akashdeep's entry, as he plays her onscreen mother to which Parakh reacts, "As an actor, my job is to step into the skin of a character, not to mirror my own birth certificate. The look and age of actors/characters are matters that the makers and the creatives handle, and I have full faith in them. To me, the "buzz" only means that people are watching the show."
Parakh went on to share how being a part of Kyunki has been a boost for her career, "Being a part of a legacy like KSBKBT2 is an incredible milestone. When you enter a universe that has almost fundamentally shaped Indian television, it naturally brings massive visibility and elevates your repertoire. It's a platform where your work reaches millions of households daily, and the stakes as well as the creative energy are incredibly high."
Usually, a show with ensemble cast filled with stalwarts often have creative clashes. When asked the same to Parakh, she shared an interesting perception towards such clashes, she said, "There are times when actors, directors, or writers might see a scene or an emotional graph differently. But that friction is rarely about ego; it is almost always about a shared interest in making the final product as impactful as possible. When everyone is pushing to make a pivotal twist or a dramatic sequence hit the absolute highest note, a healthy debate actually sharpens the performance."
She further added, "For me, working alongside such accomplished co-stars is primarily a masterclass in collaboration. You learn to listen, adapt, and hold your own ground while respecting the incredible experience around you."
Parakh is enjoying wearing sarees for her role and shares her thoughts on the same. "Niyati's look is kind of an extension of the soul of the character. The colors are often chosen to reflect her emotional state. You'll see a lot of deep, soulful earth tones or soft pastels that suggest vulnerability, but always paired with a certain "sharpness" in the styling that reminds the audience of her resilience."
