Warner Bros. Discovery is bringing its globally acclaimed survival franchise to India with Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav. The six-part adventure series follows six Indian survivalists as they face extreme wilderness conditions, relying solely on their instincts, resilience, and survival skills. The show premiered on June 15 on Discovery and discovery+.

Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav gets Indian adaptation

Inspired by the instincts, resilience, and survival skills associated with the ‘Aadimanav' lifestyle, the six-part series explores what happens when modern-day adventurers are stripped of comfort and forced to rely on the most fundamental human capabilities to persevere.

Premiering on June 15 at 11 PM on Discovery and streaming on discovery+, the Indian adaptation marks the arrival of one of the world's most celebrated adventure-survival formats in the Asia-Pacific region. Shot deep in the wilderness of Palawan in the Philippines, the series follows six participants as they step far beyond the routines of everyday life and into an environment where adaptability matters as much as preparation. Removed from the comforts and conveniences of modern life, they must rely on their resourcefulness, decision-making abilities, and mental resilience as they navigate unfamiliar terrain to secure food and water, build shelter, and contend with the realities of life in the wild.

Commenting on the launch, Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, "The show is in line with Discovery's long-standing commitment to present content which brings the perfect mix of unique concepts and real-world experiences."

About the survivors

The survivalists include Tenzin Jigdrela, a mountaineer and expedition leader from Ladakh; Krushnaa Patil, one of India's youngest Everest summiteers; Lahu Ughade, an Everest climber and animal rescuer; Debiprasad Kar, an athlete and endurance coach; Sudipta Mondal, a parkour instructor and holistic health practitioner; and Nirit Datta, a wildlife rescuer and conservationist.

Together, they step into an experience that challenges not only their physical capabilities but also their judgement, resilience, and resolve. Guided by the campaign line, No Mercy.

As the participants adapt to their surroundings, viewers will witness moments of ingenuity, unexpected alliances, difficult choices, and the relentless determination required to keep moving forward. As the first Asia-Pacific edition of the acclaimed survival franchise, Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav brings Indian audiences an extraordinary adventure-survival experience. Set in some of the world's toughest environments, the series offers a front-row seat to a journey where nature sets the rules and survival must be earned.
