The wait is almost over. Salman Khan is returning with the 20th season of Bigg Boss, and this time, the makers appear to be pulling out all the stops for the milestone edition. With a fresh set of twists, a reported new format and a long list of names linked to the show, Bigg Boss 20 has already become one of the most talked-about reality shows ahead of its premiere. So, when does the show begin and where can fans watch it?
Bigg Boss 20 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with Salman Khan returning as the host. The superstar has been associated with the Hindi edition for several seasons and is expected to once again steer the show through its trademark fights, friendships, romances, tasks and eliminations.
The new season will be available on both JioHotstar and Colors TV. According to current reports, viewers can stream the show on JioHotstar from 9 pm, while the television broadcast on Colors TV is expected to begin at 10:30 pm. The season is also following a digital-first strategy, continuing the format adopted for the previous edition.
The contestant list has been one of the biggest talking points. Several television actors, influencers, singers, digital creators and personalities from other fields have been linked to the show. Among the names reported are Mahhi Vij, Isha Rikhi, Qazi Touqeer, Kushal Tanwar, Kanika Mann, Arshifa Khan, Khushi Dubey, Aman Gandhi, Geeta Basra, Amrapali Dubey and Aasif Khan.
Other names doing the rounds include Parth Samthaan, Niti Taylor, Yukti Kapoor, Pranali Rathod, Rhiti Tiwari, Deepika Singh, Sunil Pal, Anjali Arora and Mary Kom. However, reports around the lineup have been changing rapidly, and viewers will have to wait for the official announcement for the final list.
The makers have reportedly introduced the theme "Vardaan", along with a two-house format. Reports suggest contestants could have another chance to remain in the competition even after moving to a second house.
Another reported twist is Fans Ka Faisla, which puts the audience in control of one contestant's entry. Rhiya Ahir and Love Gill were reportedly competing for a spot, with viewers getting a say in the decision. With Salman Khan back, a milestone season and several twists reportedly in store, Bigg Boss 20 is gearing up to make its September 6 premiere a big one.
