Television actress Amrapalli Gupta has opened up about her experience working with Dheeraj Dhoopar on Rabb Se Hai Dua, claiming that the actor's alleged working routine often left other members of the cast waiting on set. In a recent interview with Telly Masala, Amrapalli spoke about Dheeraj's reported timings and suggested that his approach to work affected the shooting schedule.
According to Amrapalli, Dheeraj's contract stated that he would work from 11 am to 9 pm. However, she claimed that although he would reach the set around 11 am, he would not be ready to shoot until around 12.45 or 1 pm. By then, she said, the cast would gather for readings, and the shooting would often be pushed closer to lunchtime.
Amrapalli explained that the situation became difficult for other actors, who had to wait and adjust their schedules. She stressed that she had no personal offence towards Dheeraj but said the delays meant that the rest of the team was affected.
The actress also claimed that Dheeraj's contract included an approximately one-hour nap after lunch. During this period, according to her, scenes involving the other actors would be filmed, while Dheeraj's portions were shot after he returned. Amrapalli acknowledged that an actor's contract could be structured around their availability and comfort, but maintained that the arrangement had an impact on the rest of the cast.
Amrapalli further said that every actor, irrespective of their position in the industry, should consider the people working alongside them. She emphasised that occasional delays caused by genuine personal circumstances are understandable, but suggested that making such a routine a regular practice can create difficulties for an entire team.
Taking a dig at what she described as Dheeraj's alleged attitude, Amrapalli said she did not think it was appropriate to create an impression that one person was "above" others on a set. She also spoke about the importance of respecting colleagues who may have been waiting for long periods to shoot their scenes.
Rabb Se Hai Dua, which premiered in November 2022, underwent a generational leap before Dheeraj joined the show as Subhaan Siddiqui opposite Yesha Rughani. The series eventually went off air in December 2024.
Amrapalli went a step further by linking Dheeraj's alleged set routine to the show's eventual ending. While clarifying that she could not say it was the definite reason, she claimed that, in her opinion, it was "99percent" one of the reasons behind the show being pulled off air. Her comments, however, are her personal account and speculation; they do not establish that Dheeraj's working style was officially responsible for the show's conclusion.
