Having showcased her comic skills in Fukrey (2013), Richa Chadha is now taking her love for the genre forward - she is making her television debut with Queens Of Comedy, a reality show that aims to offer a platform to women comics.

For a genre that thrives on highlighting the social evils of today, including the issue of gender inequality, it is laughable how the business of comedy is heavily skewed towards men. "It is a myth that women are not as funny as men, or that funny women are unattractive. The show aims to challenge these stereotypes," says Chadha.
Stand-up comedians Rohan Joshi and Kaneez Surkha are joining Chadha on the judges' panel. "Rohan and Kaneez are hilarious. Sometimes, I'd feel the pressure to be funny around them, but I'm glad I didn't give in to it."
While films have provided little scope to female actors to show their comic talent, Chadha believes Sridevi excels in the art. "Her act in Mr India is a benchmark for comedy."
