Smriti Irani recently made a comeback on television, reprising her iconic role of Tulsi Virani alongside Amar Upadhyay. While the show is still loved by audiences, initially, rumours were rife that Smriti Irani was allegedly using a body double for her scenes. She has now reacted to the claims, stating she knows the source of the rumours.

Smriti Irani on claims of using a body double

The Indian Express had reported that Smriti Irani was shooting for the show separately, and for other family scenes, her body double was used. This got noticed by netizens, and in no time, she was trolled. In a chat with India Today, she reacted to the claims and said, "I know who started those controversies. Those people, God bless them, I couldn't care less. I think the beauty is that I know exactly who started it," she said. The actor-politician added with a smile, "It is to those people that I say that throwing stones at me will still not make you Smriti Irani."

When asked about her political future and whether she plans to contest elections again, Smriti said, "I would not bore you with the realities of politics... that is something that leadership decides."

Smriti Irani on having Z+ security on set

A few days back, she also cleared the air about shooting amid the presence of security on set. In an interview with Mashable, she said, "I was really surprised when this news about me was circulated - that I would be shooting under Z-plus security, with tight protection. I had a hearty laugh," Irani stated.

The actress also reacted to Deepika Padukone's ongoing controversy about the work-hour debate and stated, "It was my choice. I can't expect people to make my choices using their work ethic. So that's why I am saying it's an individual choice. Today, I understand that if I consistently don't turn up for my producer, they will suffer a huge loss, and it's not fair to them. If I don't turn up to work, 120 people do not get a paycheck that day. It's unfair to 120 families. So, my way of viewing my work and my work product is very different."
