Actor Sourabh Raaj Jain recently shared a cryptic post on social media, criticising and questioning the kind of content being shown on reality shows just for the sake of higher TRPs. Although he did not name a show, his comments got the internet speculating about what show he must be talking about. Many believed his remarks were linked to Netflix's Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, however, the actor later clarified.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Sourabh said he had initially been advised to stay silent on the matter since it did not concern him professionally. However, the actor added that he felt compelled to speak "purely on the basis of humanity".

He wrote, "It is insane how low they are going for the sake of TRP's. It is NOT entertainment.... It is sick, oppressive, inhuman, sadist and more, all combine together," Sourabh wrote.

The actor, who played Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, also questioned the stance of 'well-known' hosts and the industry in allowing such content to be shown on television. "I wonder how well-known hosts of such shows let it all happen.... It's really sad. Hope better sense prevails in the industry.... what kind of benchmark are we setting," he added.

Which show was Saurabh talking about?

Sourabh's post quickly sparked speculation online, with many assuming that he was referring to the controversial show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, which is currently streaming on Netflix.

However, the actor later shared another Instagram Story clarifying that his comments were about a television show, and not an OTT show. He also seemingly took a jibe at those who had interpreted his reference to TRPs as being about an OTT platform.

"TRP IS considered for television viewership NOT OTT, Kripya thoda samjha karo..... Samajhdaar ko ishaara kaafi hai," he wrote.

He then highlighted that his criticism was not limited to one platform. The actor went on to opine that entertainment should also have some artistic or creative value. "Although I do believe irrespective of any platform there should be skill and art based content that add value mix with entertainment.... not the regular nonsense," he wrote.

Given Sourabh did not mention which show he was referring to, netizens began making their own theories. His remarks come days after Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 premiered on Colors TV, hosted by Rohit Shetty.

Recently, one of the tasks in the show sparked conversations online after contestants, including Gaurav Khanna shared pictures showing injury marks. However, there is no clarity if Sourabh was hinting at Rohit Shetty's show in his post. Interestingly, he was a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 11.
