Stupid Man, Smart Phone

They say, man is smarter than the computer he built. So, what happens when it's all he has for survival, deep in India's wilderness? Stupid Man, Smart Phone, the Indian adaptation of the British adventure reality show by the same name, revolves around web superstar Sumeet Vyas as he is entrusted to carry out missions with celebrity guests and a smartphone for help.

Sumeet Vyas

The first three episodes of Voot's digital show has him teaming up with 'delicate darling' Evelyn Sharma. Their first mission is to deliver anti-venom for snake bites to a village in a dense forest of Tamil Nadu. Of course, it isn't going to be an easy ride considering the two don't speak the language and have no experience of camping. They use the smartphone to translate Tamil to Hindi, refer to videos to set up tents and make calls. How they get network in the wilderness (When call drops are everyday in the city) leaves us befuddled.

While the adventure seems tame, Vyas and Sharma's banter keeps the proceedings entertaining. With Vyas almost losing his cool by the third episode, it will be interesting to see what happens when the terrains get trickier and the survival instinct, stronger. Watch the show for Vyas and his quirky remarks; the rest offers nothing new.
