From the spellbinding fun of Shararat and Son Pari to youth favourites like Dill Mill Gayye, Miley Jab Hum Tum, and Remix, these iconic series shaped an entire generation.

Shararat
This coming-of-age show centered around the lives of three generations of friendly witches played by Farida Jalal, Shruti Seth and Poonam Narula. It made us believe that chanting ‘Shring vling sarvling bhoot bhavishya vartaman badling’ by snapping fingers could make miracles happen.
Shaka laka Boom Boom
This TV show must have made you believe in the existence of a magic pencil that could turn mere sketches into original objects. This show entertained the kids for almost 4 years wherein the storyline revolved around the adventures of the lead character Sanju, played by Kinshuk Vaidya. It also starred Hansika Motwani in pivotal role.
Son Pari
Fruity (Tanvi Hegde) and Pari Ma (Mrinal Kulkarni) made for the cutest pair in 2000 show Son Pari, which made everyone believe in goodness prevailing over evil. Just like Fruity, we all wanted a Sona aunty in our lives who would come and take all our miseries away. Son Pari was a fascinating show full of fairies and magic.
Karishma Kaa Karishma
The plot followed a brilliant scientist who secretly built a robot designed to behave like a human child and experience genuine emotions. Jhanak Shukla brought the robot’s character to life with her perfect expressions and innocence. Kids loved the show for its simplicity and charm while families enjoyed its innocent humour and futuristic twist. It was a remake of the 1985 American sitcom Small Wonder.
Hatim
Hatim was and always will be a hero! It was one of the coolest and most beloved shows among the kids back then. Hatim embarks on an adventure with his friend Hobo to find and kill demon king Dajjal and find answers to 7 questions and save his lady love. Despite limited technology, the show stood out for its engaging CGI.
Dhoom Machaao Dhoom
It was a vibrant Disney India teen series that revolved around four spirited girls who form a music band called the Pink Band. Set against the backdrop of school life, friendships, and teenage challenges, the show celebrated individuality, confidence, and the power of chasing one’s passion.
Remix
Remix was a youth show that revolved around the lives of four school kids - Yuvraj, Anvesha, Ranveer, and Tia. It has been 13 years since the show was premiered on Star One (now a defunct channel) but it's still etched in our memories.
Tu Tu Main Main
Today, saas-bahu shows are mostly melodramatic and over the top. But one saas-bahu drama that is etched in our hearts till date is the popular sitcom Tu Tu Main Main, which featured a stubborn mother-in-law, played by Reema Lagoo, and a boisterous daughter-in-law, enacted by Supriya Pilgaonkar.
Left Right Left
This military-focused drama really captivated the attention of Indian youth. It brought patriotism through the lens of different variations. The storyline focused on six young individuals who come from different paths of life with a main goal of serving the nation.
Dill Mill Gayye
It was a hugely popular medical drama that became a youth sensation in the late 2000s. Set in the vibrant world of Sanjeevani Hospital, the show followed young interns—especially the beloved duo Dr. Armaan (Karan Singh Grover) and Dr. Riddhima (Jennifer Winget), as they balanced medical responsibilities with friendship, romance, and personal growth.
Miley Jab Hum Tum
Starring Mohit Sehgal, Sanaya Irani, Arjun Bijlani and Rati Pandey in lead roles, the show brought a new wave of fun, romance, and campus drama into people’s living rooms.
Hum Paanch
Ektaa Kapoor-produced Hum Paanch is a hilarious family comedy, featuring a middle-class father and his five chaotic daughters - each with her own quirks. Vidya Balan, along with Ashok Saraf, Shoma Anand, Vandana Pathak, Bhairavi Raichura, Rakhee Tandon, Priyanka Mehra, were a part of the ensemble cast.
Shriman Shrimati
The show starred Late Jatin Kanakia, Reema Lagoo, Rakesh Bedi and Archana Puran Singh. A popular sitcom in 1994, Shrimaan Shrimati upped the ante of comedy shows in India. Centered around two neighboring couples, the show hilariously explored their harmless infatuations and the resulting mix-ups that followed.
