Yo Yo Honey Singh has taken a playful dig at fellow rapper Badshah after an old video resurfaced online, appearing to contradict the latter's recent claim about how he got his stage name. The exchange has once again brought the rappers' long-standing history into the spotlight.

The controversy began after Badshah appeared on comedian Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent. During the conversation, Samay asked him about the story behind his stage name. Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh, reportedly said that he came up with the name "Badshah" himself.

Soon after the episode, an old clip featuring Badshah and Honey Singh resurfaced on social media. In the video, Badshah appeared to credit Honey Singh with giving him the stage name, creating a contrast with his recent statement on Samay's show.

The resurfaced video quickly caught the attention of fans, who began discussing the apparent contradiction. Honey Singh also joined the conversation, reacting to the viral clip in his trademark humorous style.

Commenting on the video, Honey Singh wrote, "Meri nalaayak aulaad." The phrase roughly translates to "my worthless child" and appeared to be a tongue-in-cheek response to the old clip and Badshah's recent claim.

All about the former controversy and feud

The interaction has once again reminded fans of the complicated equation between the two rappers. Honey Singh and Badshah were once members of the rap collective Mafia Mundeer, alongside artists including Ikka, Lil Golu and Raftaar. The group was associated with several popular tracks before internal differences reportedly led to the members going their separate ways.

Honey Singh and Badshah's relationship subsequently turned into a highly publicised feud, with both rappers taking occasional potshots at each other over the years. Their rivalry has remained a subject of interest among fans of Indian hip-hop. Recently, their old songs were ordered to be removed by Delhi HC over vulgarity and derogatory lyrics.

However, Badshah had previously indicated that he wanted to put their differences behind them. He publicly addressed the feud at a concert in Dehradun, where he spoke about ending the long-running rivalry with Honey Singh.

Despite their history, Honey Singh's latest reaction appears to have been more humorous than confrontational. His "Meri nalaayak aulaad" comment has added another layer to the ongoing online discussion surrounding Badshah's stage name.

For now, the resurfaced clip continues to circulate on social media, with fans revisiting the rappers' earlier equation and debating the contrasting versions of how Badshah got his iconic stage name.
