Reality show Lock Upp witnessed a shocking revelation after contestant Yogesh Rawat confessed to stealing items worth nearly Rs 50,000-60,000 from shopping malls in the past. The confession came during the show's secret-revealing task, leaving host Farah Khan stunned, while fellow contestants watched in disbelief.
As part of the task, contestants acting as "controllers" had to protect their chosen "dependents." At the end of the challenge, Yogesh, who was Madhuri Grover's dependent, was selected to disclose his first secret. Asked to reveal something from his past, Yogesh admitted that he had indulged in shoplifting for fun and managed to steal expensive products from malls.
Laughing while recalling the incidents, Yogesh shared that he had stolen perfumes, clothes and shoes, adding that the total value of the items was around Rs 50,000-60,000. His casual tone left Farah visibly shocked, prompting her to ask if he was serious. Yogesh maintained that he was telling the truth and even smiled as he narrated the experience.
Farah was quick to call him out for treating the confession so lightly. She questioned why he was laughing over something that was clearly wrong and reminded him that shoplifting is a criminal offence. Riteish Deshmukh also appeared surprised by the revelation, while the contestants reacted with a mix of disbelief and amusement.
Yogesh tried to explain that the incidents happened years ago and that he had never been caught. However, his explanation did little to soften Farah's reaction. She stressed that such acts should never be glorified or laughed about, regardless of when they occurred.
Apart from the confession, Farah also confronted Yogesh over his gameplay inside the house. She criticised him for wasting time and trying to act like a host instead of focusing on his own strategy. Referring to his conversations with fellow contestant Varun Yadav, she said he often avoided revealing his plans and instead attempted to guide others.
The secret-reveal task has become one of Lock Upp's biggest highlights, with contestants opening up about deeply personal experiences to stay in the game. Yogesh's confession, however, stood out for its unexpected nature and sparked strong reactions from both the hosts and viewers. Whether it affects his standing in the competition remains to be seen, but the revelation has certainly become one of the season's most talked-about moments.
