Ahead of Judgment Day, Lock Upp's recent episode saw major tensions in the house due to ration distribution. Shreya Kalra, Shilpa Shinde, and Madhuri Grover ganged up and mocked other housemates. At one point, Shilpa Shinde was seen making remarks about Sufi's mental health and medication. Shreya Kalra also joined in with comments, while Pamela Sarena defended him.
Shilpa mocked Sufi's mental health by saying, "Aise characters ko neend ki dawai khani padti hai, uske bagair neend nahi aati (People like him need sleeping pills. Without them, they can't sleep)." Shreya continued by adding, "With all the guilt, you won't sleep without a pill. Your heart feels heavy. Your career will go down." At that moment, Sufi hit back and said, "Yours never took off." Shreya then continued calling him a bully.
Pamela, however, emerged as the only housemate who openly supported Sufi during the incident. She questioned Shreya Kalra over her behaviour and stopped her from making such personal remarks. Sufi then told Shilpa, "Taking medicines might make you normal. Don't make fun of someone's medication because of people like you, many shy away from seeking help for their mental health. Because people like you keep mocking them. I take medicines because I've been through a lot and I'm still standing. I have not become mad like you."
As tensions over the ration budget and food distribution grew, Sufi found himself in a tough spot earlier when Shreya Kalra refused him food.
Initially, Sufi struggled in the house as he was constantly questioned about his sexuality by Varun (Laila). Explaining why coming out can be an emotionally difficult experience, Motiwala in one of the episode said, "Your parents often have specific dreams for you - that you'll grow up to be someone significant, give them grandchildren, and that they'll get to see you married. You also realise, 'Oh, I won't be able to fulfil those dreams and expectations.' You don't have the courage to go and tell them that the life they've planned out for you isn't going to happen."
He continued, "Just think about it - when someone discovers they are gay, it takes them 10 or 12 years just to accept it themselves. So, if you go to your parents, they aren't going to accept you in a split second; they will inevitably need their own time to process it."
In one of the episodes, Sufi even got injured while performing a task.
Meanwhile, another recent episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa also drew attention after Shreya Kalra spoke about Akanksha Chamola's sexuality while talking to Sufi Motiwala.
