The wait is finally over for Maxton Hall - The World Between Us fans. Prime Video has confirmed that the third and final season of the hit German teen drama will premiere on December 9, 2026, bringing Ruby Bell and James Beaufort's complicated love story to its much-anticipated conclusion.
The announcement comes with new key art, while fans get their first glimpse of Season 3 on September 3. With the show having built a massive following around the romance between the scholarship student and the wealthy heir, the final chapter is expected to bring plenty of emotional twists along with the answers viewers have been waiting for.
Season 3 picks up with Ruby suspended from Maxton Hall College, putting her Oxford dreams in serious jeopardy. But rather than walk away from everything she has worked for, Ruby refuses to give up. This time, she has James by her side as the pair attempt to prove her innocence.
However, getting closer to the truth could come at a cost. As Ruby and James dig deeper, they find themselves caught up in secrets that could change their lives and threaten the relationships around them. Friendships will be tested, while revelations they never saw coming could put their already complicated romance under even more pressure.
And, of course, there is one big question hanging over the final season - is love enough?
Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung return as Ruby and James, with Sonja Weiber as Lydia, Eidin Jalali as Graham, Ben Felipe as Cyril and Fedja van Huet as Mortimer also reprising their roles. The returning ensemble further includes Runa Greiner, Justus Riesner, Govinda Gabriel, Andrea Guo, Frederic Balonier, Eli Riccardi and Dagny Dewath.
Martin Schreier returns to direct the third season. Sandra Stockmann and Ceylan Yildirim serve as head writers, with Catharina Junk, Marlene Melchior and Aylin Kockler joining the writing team. Ceylan Yildirim, Markus Brunnemann and Eike Adler return as executive producers, while Valentin Debler serves as producer.
With Season 3 marking the end of Ruby and James' journey, Maxton Hall is gearing up for one final chapter and fans won't have to wait much longer to find out how their story ends. Maxton Hall season 3 will premiere on December 9 on Prime Video.
