Rise and Fall 2: Kaira Anu clarifies her equation with Gullu, says he was 'like a boyfriend'

Kaira Anu is currently making waves with her stint on Rise and Fall 2, but her past relationship with Splitsvilla X6 winner Gullu continues to grab attention. In a recent episode, she opened up about their equation, calling him a "boyfriend jaisa." She previously addressed criticism surrounding their relationship.

Kaira on her bond with Gullu

In a recent episode, Manish Kashyap brought up Kaira and Gullu's bond and mentioned seeing several Instagram stories in which the two appeared together. Kaira said that Gullu continues to be an important person in her life. "We're still friends. Friends from the heart."

She then explained why people may have misunderstood their equation. "Woh boyfriend jaisa tha. (He was like a boyfriend). I became friends with three girls, and they're still in my life to this day," she said.

Her description of Gullu as "boyfriend jaisa" left Manish laughing. He pointed out how unusual the phrase sounded to him and said, "I've never heard a girl say this before. I've either heard them say, ‘He was my boyfriend' or ‘He was my friend.' Boyfriend-like? He gave me the best of both worlds; he was both a friend and a boyfriend."

When Kaira addressed criticism

Addressing the criticism that she had made her way through Splitsvilla because of her connection with Gullu, she said, "Mera relationship toh trend hua hai, but mera breakup bhi. Aur sab kehte hain Gullu Gullu karke I made my way up. But honestly, I'm here to prove you wrong. Because betrayal has made me stronger."

Kaira and Gullu had emerged as one of the prominent couples of Splitsvilla X6 and eventually won the season. After the show, their relationship also became a topic of discussion after reports in June claimed that the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram and removed several joint videos and reels.
