The Traitors Season 2 has officially started, and the show has already eliminated five contestants within the first few episodes. Munawar Faruqui, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Soundous Moufakir and Karan Singh Magic got out. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Soundous blames Shahneel for her eviction, talks about Mallika Sherawat and opens up about reality shows.
After Shahneel Gill was recruited as a Traitor, she chose to murder Soundous Moufakir, whose outspoken personality and willingness to speak her mind may have made her a threat in the game. Reacting to her eviction, Soundous believes Shahneel's decision to target her stemmed from personal reasons rather than gameplay.
Soundous said, "It was Shahneel who took my name. I think when you are a girl and you choose to hurt another girl, it says a lot about your character, especially when the person you are targeting is beautiful, opinionated and confident, and hasn't done anything to hurt you in the game. It comes across as insecurity rather than strength. I think it was more on a personal level."
In The Traitors, Mallika Sherawat has often spoken about her glamorous lifestyle, including recalling how even Hollywood star Tom Cruise once had a crush on her. Commenting on Mallika's game, Soundous Moufakir believes the actress's focus on her lifestyle takes away from the strategy and gameplay expected on the show.
Soundous said, "I think, as a personality, you might be shining, but if you want to shine that way, then please go to Bigg Boss. If you want to be a Traitor and join a show about Traitors, and all you want to talk about is diamonds, Paris and Los Angeles, then I would be the first one. I would only talk about Morocco and my friends."
She added, "I have a French passport; Mallika Sherawat doesn't have one. If you're thinking about reel cuts all day long, then I don't think it adds to the show or makes it entertaining for the audience."
Soundous has been a part of reality shows such as Splitsvilla and Khatron Ke Khiladi. When asked if she would consider doing more reality shows, the actor said she feels it is time to move on and focus on the next phase of her career.
She explained, "Reality started my career with Splitsvilla. At the time, I genuinely didn't know how to speak Hindi, so it was a big disadvantage for me when I wanted to enter the film industry. But I think I'm done with reality now. I should also move on from it because I need to grow beyond that, and I think it's high time."
