The app gave up on followers even as they curled up at home to watch the over two-hour episode that concluded a ten-year odyssey, which led to a meme frenzy on X (previously Twitter). Better still? The first season, which was produced by Duffer Brothers for Netflix, debuted on the platform on July 15, 2016. Three episodes of the fifth and final season were published in November and December of 2025, with the finale airing on December 31. The show uses nostalgia for the 1980s to tell the tale of Eleven, a young girl with psychokinetic talents, who opens the door to the Upside Down, a dangerous dimension.
