Marvel fans have a new reason to revisit one of the MCU's most intriguing characters. The trailer for VisionQuest is out, bringing Paul Bettany back as Vision and James Spader as the voice of Ultron. The Marvel Television series is set to premiere on JioHotstar on October 14 and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The upcoming show serves as the final chapter in a trilogy that began with WandaVision in 2021 and continued with Agatha All Along in 2024. While the trailer gives a glimpse of Vision's new journey, it also sets up a reunion with Ultron, the artificial intelligence that played a key role in his creation.
VisionQuest picks up with Vision trying to rebuild his life after being rebooted and escaping those who wanted to use him as a weapon. Now keeping a low profile, he turns to the various artificial intelligence systems within his programming for answers.
Among them are F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and J.A.R.V.I.S., but the most complicated presence is Ultron. Spader reprises the role he voiced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, bringing the villain back into Vision's story.
Vision's attempt at a quiet existence is disrupted after a bounty is placed on him, forcing him to flee. He is joined by Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious young boy who may have a much deeper connection to Vision than initially appears. As the pair go on the run, Vision is forced to confront questions about his identity while dealing with Ultron's influence and trying to understand who Thomas really is.
The series features an ensemble cast alongside Bettany and Spader, including Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T'Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady and Diane Morgan. Emily Hampshire and James D'Arcy also feature in the series.
VisionQuest is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro and Vincenzo Natali, with Terry Matalas serving as creator and one of the writers. Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti and Matthew Okumura have worked on the scripts.
The show is based on Marvel Comics and is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Bettany, Mary Livanos, Matalas, Jac Schaeffer and Byrne.
With Vision back at the centre and Ultron once again entering the picture, VisionQuest is set to explore the character's identity, his connection to artificial intelligence and a mysterious new chapter in his life. The series premieres on JioHotstar on October 14.
