Rida Tharana comes from a traditional Muslim family and grew up in a modest household in Polibetta, a rural village in Coorg, Karnataka. Rida Tharana is the eldest sibling in her family. She has 2 sisters and a brother.
As per various reports, her family has coffee plantation business and own a small restaurant in Coorg. However, Rida faced significant pressure from her maternal relatives to marry at 18.
Hence, she left her home and moves to Bengaluru to pursue education and took loan for it. She holds a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and Genetics from Garden City University.
At just 17, she started hosting events to make ends meet. Her first show lasted nine hours and she was paid just Rs 800.
In 2020, she began content creation and it took a while but she established herself. Her videos have covered fashion, lifestyle, travel, self-love, body positivity and women's empowerment. Her content has also addressed social expectations around women, relationships, marriage and independence.
Rida grabbed limelight after her fallout with Apoorva Mukhija. The Rebel Kid released a video titled "Till I Say It Is" discussing a visit to a tarot card reader where she mentioned a friend was allegedly practicing black magic on her.
Although Apoorva did not name anyone directly, social media users assumed she was talking about her close friend Rida Tharana.
In August 2026, Rida entered the fashion business with Nari, a saree label she co-founded with Navya Varma.
Her profile grew even further when she walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
Talking about her love life, Rida Tharana and Lorenzo are close friends who have humorously addressed speculation about their relationship status, noting they are "still figuring it out" rather than officially confirming they are dating.
