The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation has launched a QR code system to bring international recognition to the state's handicrafts.
Scanning a code provides customers with comprehensive details of artworks, artisans, said an official press release, adding that it was initiated at the instance of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
"As per the brainchild of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Lepakshi (handicrafts corporation) has initiated the QR Code system for Andhra Pradesh's handicrafts, aimed at achieving international recognition," it said.
Under the QR code system, Lepakshi provides details of handicrafts such as Bobbili Ekanda Veena handcrafted by Bonumaddi Murali, Kalamkari paintings on Mahabharatam, Krishna Leela and Sampurna Ramayanam by C Subramanyam and others.
