Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya and Paramparik Karigar are organising art and craft workshops with master craftsmen as well as an exhibition of arts, crafts and textiles

Paramparik Karigar, an NGO dedicated to preserve, promote and create awareness of traditional arts and crafts, is hosting their latest edition of workshops and a textile and craft exhibition in the city at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) starting today.

On offer at the exhibition will be miniature paintings, Phad paintings, Warli art, Pattachitra, Gond paintings, palm leaf etching, Bidri work, Kansakam, woodcraft, metal casting, Dokra art, dhurries, silver filigree work, Meenakari jewellery, and other crafts.


Papier-mache products

The handloom section will feature Bagru prints, handblock prints, Ajarakh prints, Ikat, Chanderi and Maheshwari sarees, Tussar silk sarees, Banarasi sarees, Kantha Kam, Kasuti embroidery, and the woollen shawls of Kutch.

There will also be a series of workshops on various traditional arts and crafts. You can learn the techniques of miniature as well as Phad painting, block printing and leather puppet-making, Kalamkari painting, Leheriya tie-dye, Warli painting as well as Kasuti embroidery.
