American rapper and singer-songwriter Jacques Bermon Webster II, popularly known as Travis Scott, has consistently delivered top-tier music over the years, according to his fans, and he shows no signs of hitting the brakes anytime soon. As he brings his Circus Maximus World Tour to Mumbai on November 18, there is a lot of excitement among Mumbaikars, one month after the performances in Delhi on October 18 and 19.
Travis has come a long way since he burst onto the solo scene in 2013 with 'Owl Pharaoh', packed with bangers like the power anthem âUpper Echelon' and the explosive opener âBad Mood/Shit On You.'
Travis Scott's debut studio album 'Rodeo' delivered some of the most iconic tracks in his catalogue. From the two-part anthem "Oh My / Dis Side," featuring Quavo's signature ad-libs, to the moody, melodic "90210" with Kacy Hill, Rodeo set the tone for his genre-blending sound. Then came Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight - his most polished and cohesive project at the time, elevating his artistry to new heights.
Travis Scott's fifth studio album, Astroworld, released in 2018, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album and highlighted some of his most innovative productions and standout tracks.
The most popular songs over the last decade by the 33-year-old are FE!N, I KNOW, Goosebumps, Butterfly Effect, Open Arms, PHILLY, Type Shit, Highest in the room, Trance and Sicko Mode.
Here are some handpicked songs loved Travis's fans:
Sicko Mode
"SICKO MODE" became an instant classic as soon as the first beat switch hit, "ASTROTHUNDER" is now the go-to mosh pit song at his shows.
FEIN
With the highly anticipated UTOPIA, which gave us the most played rage trap music, FEIN, a song that he performed for about 10 times in a row at one of his UTOPIA concerts.
Lights
'Lights' earns its spot on the list for its standout features - like the signature beat switch that later became a staple in Travis Scott's music. This music video played a pivotal role in Travis getting signed to Kanye West. As the story goes, Ye's DJ discovered the video and shared it with Kanye during the making of the Cruel Summer compilation. Impressed, Kanye immediately flew Travis out, and the rest is history.
Pick Up The Phone
"Pick Up The Phone" represents a pivotal moment of artistic refinement for all three collaborators. Young Thug's dynamic verse showcases his trademark vocal experimentation and intricate wordplay, layered over a fluid, atmospheric instrumental. Travis Scott delivers a standout hook that effortlessly blends melody and mood, while Quavo's closing verse adds a polished final touch. The track stands as one of Scott's most relaxed yet impactful efforts and remains a highlight in his expansive catalogue.
Goosebumps
"Goosebumps" ranks among the most impactful tracks of 2017, reinforcing Travis Scott's reputation as a skilled hit-maker. While he may not be renowned for lyrical prowess, his command over sonic atmosphere - paired with his instantly recognisable ad-libs like "YAH" and "IT'S LIT!" - creates a mesmerising listening experience. The track exemplifies his unique ability to blur the lines between rap and melodic artistry.
