While Mumbaikars immersed in the festivities outside the Kwang Kung temple in Dockyard, they also took the opportunity to immerse in the culture of the Chinese community, which calls Mumbai its home

Known to be the only Chinese temple in Mumbai, every year Mumbai's Chinese assemble there to pray to their ancestors and keep offerings in the form of foods like fruits, chocolates and more

This year is being observed as the Year of the Fire Horse, with Chinese New Year being celebrated on February 17 and ending on March 3, as the celebrations vary depending on the family

The temple saw not only members of the Chinese community but people from different communities of all ages understand more about the traditions, and even indulge in throwing of the sticks to get the message for their future

The uniqueness of the celebration is that it is known to be the only festival celebrated by Mumbai's Chinese, and it happens only one night every year for about 45 minutes to one hour
