Q. My boyfriend has a habit of putting up risqué images of me on Instagram. I have told him repeatedly that I am not comfortable with it, but he doesn't seem to get it. These photographs get a lot of likes, because I'm pretty, but it makes me feel as if I'm a trophy that belongs to him. He revels in the attention, but it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I have even threatened to leave him if he continues with this, but it hasn't stopped him. What can I do?
A. You are well within your rights to get him arrested for putting up photographs of you without your permission. He doesn't own you, nor does he have the right to make you feel like a trophy. He needs to understand that you're not joking about how his behaviour antagonises you. If he doesn't respect your opinion or your personal space, he needs a reality check. Threaten him with legal consequences and let's see if he continues to brush off your objections. You are not a commodity and he needs to get that through his obviously thick head.

Q. I don't like working much because I find corporate India hard to deal with. I prefer staying home and reading, which my wife says is a problem. She doesn't like being the breadwinner even though she really loves her job. I think she's being unfair. Why should I earn money simply because I am the man? Why can't she let me be?
A. This isn't about traditional gender roles as much as it is about simply running a household. Your wife may love her job, but that doesn't entitle you to sit back and relax without pulling your weight. It takes two people to make a relationship work and, if she's uncomfortable with you not doing anything, you should respect that. Millions of people hate dealing with corporate India. That doesn't stop them from going out there and getting their jobs done. Stop writing to columnists and get off the couch.
