'He wants me to get his name tattooed on my arm'

My boyfriend of four months wants me to get a tattoo of his name on my arm. I don't want to. I have never got a tattoo of anyone or anything before. What do I say to him?
Tell him it's a stupid idea. Also, you don't have to do anything you don't want to.

My husband and I dated for a few years before deciding to marry. We were very close and shared a lot about our respective pasts, so I thought I knew him pretty well when I decided to take the plunge and marry him. A year after the marriage, I found out that he is estranged from his brothers, because of a property dispute. This shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but it makes me feel as if he didn't trust me enough to tell me about something so huge, considering it is such a big part of his life. I don't know if he has kept other secrets from me, and even though I ask him about this often, he says I know everything about his life. How can I trust him after this though?
Trust takes time to build. Just because you dated someone doesn't necessarily mean the person was as open with you as you were with him. People are different and react to openness and trust differently. If your husband didn't mention this before, he must have had a reason. You can only find out more about him in time, when you give him the benefit of doubt and allow him to open up to you. If this is bothering you as much you say it is, tell him how you feel and give him a chance to explain. Also, don't assume he hasn't told you a lot of things simply because he hasn't mentioned this before. Give yourselves time to arrive at a place where the trust you inspire in each other is mutual. You may get there before he does; wait for him.
