I left my Facebook page open a few weeks ago, and returned to find my boyfriend scrolling through my timeline. I haven't spoken to him since. Should I?
You should tell him why you don't want to speak to him. Maybe he was just curious. Either way, tell him about the need for him to respect your privacy and try being more careful about logging out in future.

I want a big, expensive wedding, but my boyfriend doesn't. He thinks we should use the money for something sensible, like furnishing our new home, but I can't get him to understand that this ceremony is something I will have just once in my life. I understand his point of view, but I want him to at least try and empathise. If he is so rigid about this now, how will we manage to make this relationship work after we are married?
This is possibly a good test of what marriage is going to be like, although I suspect you have had some experience simply by virtue of being in this relationship for a while. It's usually about compromise. Your boyfriend has a valid reason for saying what he has, as do you. The thing to do is to try and find some sort of middle ground. I'm not suggesting you do what he asks, or that he give in to what you think should be done with the money, but I think it makes sense, when confronted with decisions like these, to try and look at the bigger picture. If you believe that going by or against what he suggests is a good step towards a marriage of equals, that's what you should do. Do consider where he's coming from though, and whether his suggestion benefits just him or the two of you as a couple. Above all, keep those lines of communication open. If you think he's being rigid, you will simply have to tell him how you feel.
