'My girlfriend wants me to use WhatsApp!'

I don't use WhatsApp, which annoys my girlfriend. I have told her repeatedly that I don't trust messaging apps, but she accuses me of not wanting to stay in touch. How can I resolve this?

Call her once an hour, every hour, for a few days and ask her how she's doing. If she still wants to stay in touch all the time, download the app.

I have been in a relationship for over two years now, and my boyfriend hasn't proposed to me or even discussed where he wants this to go. I am in no hurry, but I would like to know if there is a future in this, because if he is never going to take this to another level, I feel as if I am throwing away important years of my life. I'm afraid to ask him this directly though, because I don't want to force him into saying something he doesn't want to. I don't want him to accuse me to pressurising him at some point in the future. It's a dilemma I can't seem to find a solution to. What do you suggest?

Anyone can claim to be pressurised into something at some point in the future, when it makes sense to say that during an argument. Do you really believe someone would make such a drastic change to their life under pressure though, and without giving it a certain amount of thought? Maybe your boyfriend isn't saying anything simply because he assumes you are perfectly okay with the current status of your relationship. Without open and honest communication, this really won't go anywhere. If you don't want to feel this way again the same time next year, I suggest you have a conversation with him as quickly as possible to figure out where you both stand. If you both want things to stay the same at least for some time, try and figure out when you would like to take things up a notch. Either way, don't just assume things. Speak about them.
