'I have a crush on a cute guy I met on the Metro'

On my way to work daily, I see this gorgeous guy on the Metro. We usually end up taking the same Metro most of the time. I really like him, but don't even know his name. I want to try and get to know him. What should I do? What if he judges me in a bad way? Men in India are not at all reluctant to judge women. What do I do?

You're right about the judging part, unfortunately, thanks to our diet of awful television, puerile cinema and regressive advertising. I do believe that's changing though, at least in some parts of the country. Luckily, Mumbai happens to be one of those cities at the cusp of change. If you like this guy, you should simply go up to him and start a conversation. Ask him how you run into him daily and wonder aloud if he works at an office near you. It's also imperative that you do this to try and gauge his intelligence. If there's one thing Bollywood has taught us, after all, it is that not every good-looking man has a fully functional brain, so speaking to him is extremely important. If he comes across as coherent and you still believe you would like to get to know him a little better, all you have to do is keep having more conversations on the Metro until either of you suggests meeting for coffee at some point. And if he judges you, thinks you're being too forward or acts like a jerk, he will only be making your life simpler by eliminating himself from it. Either way, you have nothing to lose.
