I have liked this girl for a long time and she knows it. She was in a relationship with a guy. Everyone except her knew he was cheating on her. She recently found out about his wrongdoings and broke up with him. Soon after this, she began asking her friends if I still liked her. Should I give her some time, should I ask her or should I wait for her to talk to me?

If you like this girl, and get the feeling that she likes you too, or is at least interested in you, why don't you just go to her and have a conversation about it? She made a mistake and has taken steps to rectify it. Why let your ego get in the way of a relationship, especially if you genuinely care about her? Don't overthink this. And don't wait for her to get in touch with you, because that's a childish thing to do.

Is there any way of making sure a girl I'm interested in will agree to go out with me? I know this sounds unreasonable, but is there some foolproof technique or method I could use to make sure this happens? I have spoken to a number of my friends and some of them say I should project more confidence and take control of a situation to convince her that she should be with me, but I'm not sure if this is the way to do it. What do you suggest?
You could just be yourself. There is no foolproof method. If she likes you, she will go out with you. If you behave like an ass, she won't. It's not rocket science, actually.
