'Do I have to marry my boyfriend?'

Should I marry my boyfriend just because we have been together for three years? He seems to think we will eventually marry. I don't see how he can just assume that though. We are happy together, but what if it doesn't work out and I find someone else I want to marry? It isn't even on my mind at the moment, so I find this disturbing. Am I overreacting?

If neither of you are discussing marriage at the moment, I don't see why it should bother you. If at some point you both feel the need to discuss it, that's the time to put your opinion across, depending on how you feel about it then. Why ruin your present by obsessing about something that may or may not happen in the future? No one's forcing you to marry anyone, so why get into a panic about a possibility that isn't even on the horizon?

I sometimes wonder whether or not we should ever get into a relationship with anyone. My friends are all unhappy about their boyfriends or husbands. I am very happy being single and don't see why I should date anyone just to prove to people that I am capable of being in a relationship.
I don't know what your question is. You're right though. No one's forcing you into a relationship at gunpoint. And millions of single people are happy.

If she believes a Facebook post is the only way of proving that you love her, she should stop whatever it is she is obviously smoking and get a life. And yes, not everyone is comfortable with baring their soul on Facebook. You are well within your rights to refuse.
