'My girlfriend doesn't take a shower after sex'

My girlfriend doesn't take a shower after we have sex and it drives me mad. It's unhygienic to do so, but she says she likes it that way. Am I being a prude?

If she likes it, she's entitled to do as she pleases. It's her body and, as long as her hygiene doesn't affect you in any way, I'm not sure why it bothers you as much as it does. I'm sure she showers at some point.

A loss of interest in sex is fairly common between people who have been together for a long time, which is when the notion of 'spicing it up' or 'rekindling the spark' and other such cheesy phrases spring to life. What you and your husband do is entirely up to you though, because an outsider can't comment on what you choose to do as a couple. If you have misgivings about his activities, you are well within your rights to point them out to him. A relationship is about compromises and acceptance, not about one person imposing views upon another without taking their feelings into consideration. If this bothers you, I urge you to speak to him before it is too late. Speak to a counsellor and ask him to come along too. You have a mind of your own. Use it.
