'Start ruining selfies to stop her addiction to them'

My girlfriend is obsessed with selfies. She makes me stand with her all the time and pose constantly whenever we go out, which is extremely annoying because I hate being photographed. I have told her that this is a narcissistic thing to do, but she ignores me. It's a frustrating habit. What can I do to get her to stop?

I suppose the thing to do is ruin the selfies. People obsessed with them like to think they look cool, or pretty or interesting. If you make faces that ruin that perception, at least she may stop asking you to participate, even if she continues clicking them herself. That's half the battle won. Hopefully, she will grow out of the habit in a while. At some point, I suppose we all get tired of seeing our own faces whenever we log on to Facebook.

I have been dating someone for a few months now. She says she likes me a lot but, lately, she says she misses her ex-boyfriend a lot too. I don't know how to deal with it because it feels as if she is in a relationship with two people. I know she still meets him, but I don't stop her because I think it's healthy to be friends with an ex. I don't know if she's serious about getting back with him though, which makes me feel as if I am in a state of limbo. What should I do about this? I don't want to end our relationship, but it feels as if I may not have a choice.

It's too early in your relationship to worry about whether or not it's going to end. You're right about it being her choice, and her meeting her ex-boyfriend may be her way of trying to figure things out for herself too. I think the best thing to do at this point is just be there for her. Let her come to her decision in her own time. The state of limbo won't last forever, after all. Nothing lasts forever.
