It's raining eclectic cinema at Max Mueller Bhavan.

Starting this Friday, the Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan will show six German films for Mumbai's film aficionados. The curtains for this cine treat of German films (with English subtitles) will come up with Tom Tykwer's cult film, Run Lola Run, that went on to become one of the most popular and successful German films from 1998, mostly for its three versions, each with a different ending.

There's the aroma-filled Soul Kitchen by revered director Fatih Akin that looks at the bistro business with a humour-tinted lens. Alain Gsponer's My Words, My Lies - My Love, talks about a waiter's run-in with a literature student. There's also Play Time by Alexander Adolph about the world of flirtatious lives and false identities. The last segment includes Andreas Dresen's acclaimed Whisky with Vodka that looks at ageing actors and rivalries in the film world, and The Edge of Heaven, Akin's saga of six people's lives that intertwine each other's in his most spiritual film till date.
