Five-member band, Tough on Tobacco (TOT), doesn't seem to be very tough with the release of their forthcoming album. Drummer Jai Row Kavi dressed in a sari and lead vocalist Sidd Coutto sporting a bald patch for their album's photoshoot, gives us a glimpse of what to expect from their forthcoming album, Big Big Joke.
"These are songs we wrote four years back and started recording a year later. It was a very a long process and a lot of material came out of it. Hence we decided to do a double album," says Coutto.
When asked about the reason for the long gap since their previous album, he shares, "people got busy". But he states that they have matured over time and have seen improvements, too. The album will continue to blend Reggae and Pop Rock, like their previous album, but Coutto, adds that the overall vibe of the tracks is very uplifting. "I was in a very âbaba' mode - having curly hair, sitting on a rock, which reflects in the songs; they are really uplifting," he says.
The album gets its name from one of the tracks by the same name. We were curious about the amusing vintage photographs that don the album cover; "I am not really sure what it's going to be yet, the management is still working on it," Coutto explains that the photographs are an extension of the spirit and the name of the album.
