New York: Next time when you send a message intended for your girlfriend mistakenly to someone else on WhatsApp, relax as you may be able to revoke such messages in the near future.

According to the WABetaInfo account on Twitter, the instant messaging app WhatsApp has reportedly added the features to revoke and edit the sent messages in a beta version testing.

"WhatsApp has added in beta the possibility to edit messages that you already sent. It is actually disabled by default and it's under development," the WABetaInfo's tweet read.

But the users will be able to edit only recent messages and not the old ones.

According to the WABetaInfo, the feature is currently available in WhatsApp Beta for the iOS 2.17.1.869 platform.

Last month, WhatsApp launched a video calling feature from India which was rolled out globally to other countries.

The feature is available on all platforms -- Android, iOS and Windows.

But that's not all...

Back up WhatsApp messages from old to new smartphones: WhatsApp will now help users to restore their old messages even if they are shifting from their old phone to a new one. The instant messaging application came up with a new feature that allow users to backup data on Google's cloud storage called Google Drive.

Apart from Google Drive, users can also take a back up of all WhatsApp messages in a SD card before shifting from their old phone to a new one. However, Google Drive is the best place to store all messages because it is a free application and is available on all Android phones. (Read more)

Add emotions to messages: Though this is a bit complicated, yet it is worth trying. The tone of messages can be enhanced by adding bold, italics and strikethrough. To bold a word, put an asterisk on both sides of the 'word'. To write a word in italics, put the underscore symbol on the sides of the _word_. To incorporate strikethrough, put the hyphens in the ~word~.

Send voice messages through WhatsApp: Switch the record button on and compose the message in voice rather than words. Once the message is recorded, press the send option and it will be sent to the recipient immediately. But to do this, one needs to have an updated version of WhatsApp.

Restore deleted messages: There are times when a message can get accidently deleted. But, there is a way to bring back those deleted messages. This can be done by simply reinstalling WhatsApp then and there. (Read more)

With 160 million users in India, WhatsApp is available in more than 50 different languages around the world and in 10 Indian languages. Nearly 100 million calls are being made on the platform daily worldwide.
