A cantilevered viewing deck was inaugurated at the popular Dabhosa waterfall in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Saturday, with state Forest Minister Ganesh Naik saying that it will boost tourism and create jobs for the locals.
After inaugurating the glass-floored viewing deck, Naik, who is also the guardian minister of the district, said tourism development across Palghar's coastline and mountainous belts will anchor the region's economic growth.
He also stressed the need to implement home-stay concepts for tribal families, include women's self-help groups in tourism activities, and route parking revenue directly to the local Gram Panchayat to prevent labour migration.
