'I'm 63 and want to remarry'

02 October,2013 11:37 PM IST |   |  Dear Diana

Dear Diana, I am a 63-year-old widower. I am trying to forge a relationship with a distant relative of mine who lost her husband two years ago.

She stays alone. I hope to marry her as I also live alone. My sons have settled in the US. I haven't expressed my intentions to her yet. I would like to spend the twilight of my life with someone rather than live alone.

Dear Raoshekhar,
I can understand your predicament. At your age leading a retired life with lots of time on hand, you crave for company. If you think she and you are on the same page, there is no harm in expressing your feelings. Age is just a number and having someone around will certainly add to your life. If she has been friendly to you and shares similar thoughts, she will definitely respond. You also need to voice your thoughts to your sons. I am sure they will be happy that you have a companion in the autumn of your life.

Diana will solve it!
