'I want to stop my masturbation habit'

20 November,2012 08:16 AM IST |   |  Dear Diana

Dear Diana, I have been married for five years and have a three-month-old son. My wife and I share an active sex life but I'm always left dissatisfied.

As a result, I find myself masturbating whenever time permits. It's like a habit now. But at the same time, I feel I wish I was the kind who doesn't have to relieve himself every now and then. Should I take medical help? Even my wife is aware of my helplessness now.

Dear Abhi,
You indeed need medical help promptly. At the same time, find a way to make masturbation less appealing. For instance, if it's a problem at night, watch TV or a film on DVD. You can also resort to exercises and walking. It will leave you exhausted and you will fall asleep. If you find bath time too tempting, start using cold water only - you won't want to be in there for long! Also, it appears that you have ample time on hand. Due to which your mind frequently wanders to sexual thoughts, it's time to keep yourself busy. You'll find it gets easier to avoid masturbation if you're too busy or tired. u00a0
