I'm 27 and going bald

03 December,2012 08:16 AM IST |   |  Dear Daina

Dear Diana, I'm a 27-year-old guy who works in the pharmaceutical sector. I used to have a curly mop of hair on my pate but lately, the hairline has started receding

I consulted some experts but none of them have been effective. It depresses no end to see myself in the mirror. Thankfully, I don't have a girlfriend or else, she would have left me by now. I don't want to use a wig because it becomes apparent when you wear one. I wish to lead a normal life with a head full of thick, black hair but that that doesn't seem to be happening. A friend told me that I should try yoga. I did that too. In fact, I'm still doing it but my head doesn't seem to believe in yoga.

Dear Cleo,
I can understand your predicament. Many guys get depressed when they lose their crowning glory. If is it heriditary, there is nothing that you can do about it. A wig is cumbersome and has telltale signs. Try hair weaving, if you are really determined you can go for a hair transplant. But this is expensive. You can take heart from the fact that nowadays many people prefer to have short, cropped hair or even go bald to make a statement. There are many girls who marry bald guys. So all is not lost for you. Accept things gracefully as they happen.
