Visit the Kothaligad fort near Karjat, climb Maharashtra's highest peak, and trek two forts that Chhatrapati Shivaji built


Keep it simple
Head off to the heart of the Western Ghats and visit Kothaligad, a small fort near Karjat. Given the slight incline, the trek is ideal for beginners.

Climb Maharashtra's highest peak
Kalsubai is the highest peak in the state. And so, it's here that you get to enjoy an uninhibited view of a number of forts from the top, which isn't frightfully difficult to reach.

Take in two forts
There are two forts that Chhatrapati Shivaji built at strategic vantage points in Rajmachi village. Visit these on a trek that also includes a trip to the Kondane caves.
