A year after its first edition, D&D Con, or Dungeons & Dragons Con, returns for its second edition with 29 adventures, board games, community creators and stalls making their debut. Organised by Adventuring Guild Mumbai, the convention brings together different Tabletop Role-Playing Games (TTRPGs) all under one roof.
For Raj Panchmatia who is one of the founders, the convention grew from a desire to create a space for the hobby. "It all started when we (a few friends and I) wanted to play D&D in a proper set-up. We realised that the hobby was still a very niche space in India, while there were already a couple of communities doing events in different cities. We felt that creating a platform for the Mumbai audience would be a good idea, so we put our heads together and tried to turn it into an annual celebration of D&D," he explains.

For the second edition, this year's 29 games will run across three slots. The line-up includes Blood on the Lens, Of Ash & Steel, Echoes of Bertram's Cove, The Riptide and Fractured Finders, alongside Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart, D&D 5e and D&D 5.5e adventures among many other games. Attendees can also play board games and Blood on the Clocktower, a social deduction game, while newcomers can attend as observers. For the first time, community creators along with other artists will be allowed to sell dice, merchandise, stickers and posters, while a cosplay partner tries to create a replica of the characters in the game.

"The scope has expanded a lot. We're covering different TTRPGs and different genres, so someone can come in for horror, fantasy or something completely different from D&D. It's going to be an entirely different experience from last time," adds community administrator Rajiv Dalal.
