Gadchiroli police build bridge in Lingapur Tola through ‘Shram Dan’ to ease monsoon woes

In a remarkable act of public service, Gadchiroli police, with SRPF support, built a bridge in Lingapur Tola through ‘Shram Dan’. The effort, led by SP Nilotpal and his team, has eased monsoon-time isolation by restoring access to medical aid and education for villagers, showcasing the force’s dedication beyond policing.

In a very heartwarming display of community service, the Gadchiroli Police, under the Sub-Post Jhinganur jurisdiction, will construct a bridge through ‘Shram Dan'. The construction of the bridge through ‘Shram Dan' will ensure easy commutation and eliminate major travel-related issues, especially during the monsoon.

The rising water level of the drainage during the rainy season cuts off Lingapur Tola village from all neighbouring areas and regions. The initiative of building a bridge in Lingapur Tola was carried out by Gadchiroli Police along with efforts from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF). The bridge has surely brought much-needed relief to residents facing severe connectivity issues because of the monsoon rains.During the rainy season, rising water levels in a drain near Lingapur Tola often cut off the village from neighbouring settlements.

The lack of connectivity in the Lingapur Tola area negatively impacted medical aid and caused educational losses for school students, while also creating transportation issues and disrupting access to education and medical aid.

Recognising the hardship faced by the locals, the police, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Gadchiroli, Nilotpal, undertook the task of building a functional bridge on 28 July 2025.The community infrastructure was built entirely through the collective effort of officers and personnel from Sub-Post Jhinganur and the SRPF, demonstrating the police department's commitment to public welfare beyond law enforcement duties.

This initiative was spearheaded by the joint efforts of Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli, Nilotpal; Additional Superintendent of Police (Campaign), M. Ramesh; Additional Superintendent of Police, Aheri (Pranhita), Satya Sai Karthik; Additional Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli (Administration), Gokul Raj G., and other prominent officials.
