A teenage boy killed his mother in Vasai (West), Mumbai, on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the boy was infuriated with his mother's behaviour as she would often pick up fights with the children over âtrivial issues'.
"The woman lived in a flat with her two children - daughter and the accused son. Her husband passed away last year; she would often pick up fights with her children over trivial issues," a police officer told mid-day.

"Late Tuesday evening, the accused lost his cool after his mother picked up fight again. The teen confessed that he pushed his sister out of the house, bolted the door from inside, and strangulated his mother with a leather belt to death," the police officer added.
The zonal DCP Sanjay Kumar Patil told mid-day that the boy is in police custody. "The body has been sent for post-mortem and the process to register an FIR is underway," Patil added.
