Two held in Borivali theft case, valuables worth Rs 75,000 recovered by Mumbai Police

The Kasturba Marg Police cracked a theft case within hours by arresting two accused and recovering the entire stolen property.

On Monday, the complainant was allegedly assaulted and robbed near the Magathane public bathroom in Borivali East. According to the police, the accused kicked the complainant and snatched a gold chain weighing approximately 7 grams (worth Rs 70,000) and an Oppo mobile phone valued at Rs 5,000 before fleeing the spot.

The police used technical analysis and inputs from informants to identify the suspects. A trap was laid, and within just four hours, both the accused were apprehended. The police also have recovered the stolen property.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sameer Hasan Sheikh (24), a resident of Dahisar (East), and Sujal Santosh Chavan (21), a resident of Borivali (East).
