Retired Major Ramesh Upadhyay who was made the working president of the radical Hindutva outfit Abhinav Bharat which was revived at Raigad in June 2006 had made all plans to avoid arrest after the cops arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in the Malegaon blast case.
The anti terrorism squad reveals the plan chalked out the by the accused in the chargesheetu00a0 it has filed in the MCOCA court.
The blast that took place on September 29 killed six and left over 100 injured.

The chargesheet says, in a conversation with Prasad Purohit, Upadhyay told him that he was writing a letter to the Pune SP that he perceived a threat from Muslim and Christian organisation and may be MNS workers with their methodology also be threat to him. Hence he needs a round the clock security.
By doing this, Upadhyay wanted to ensure police presence around himself so that he was never suspected in the blast case.
He also told Purohit that it would be better to be open and nothing to hide from the police. On this, Purohit replied to him that it is better to project as a socio-political organisation and better to issue the letter. The two had a huge laugh.
In his letter, Upadhyay had stated that Abhinav Bharat preaches propagates and informs Hindus to be wary of conversion activities undertaken by Muslims and Christian missionaries by force or fraudulent means, the chargesheet adds.
